REAL TIME FILTER, CAPTURE AND ANALYSIS

Up to now, network traffic analysis has been an archeological endeavor. The traffic patterns often change hundreds of times before a pcap file can even be opened. That is why so many service providers are forced to engage in 24X7 full captures and storage. All patterns must be verified over time and a full capture was the only option.

Being able to filter and analyze traffic real time and at full line rates changes everything. "Right Now" can be monitored and analyzed. The obvious application of Real Time technology is to reduce the amount of data that must be stored and/or analyzed. The trick is to bond all of the frames associated with a conversation using header and payload based complex filters.

Once real time filtering and analysis of the live network begins, several unexpected applications will be evidenced. Simply put, the more that you can accomplish, the more that you want to accomplish.
