iTest - iTest Team
Spirent iTest® Team enables seasoned feature testers and engineers with scripting experience to build fully automated test cases with pass/fail criteria, quickly and easily. These robust, easy-to-read, and transferable test cases can be used by other QA teams to speed up replication, defect resolution, and regression testing.
Why iTest Team
Today's test engineers rely largely on manual processes to verify the features, performance, and stability of new and increasingly complex product releases. Similarly, automation engineers have few tools to help automate the most difficult test cases. iTest Team can improve the efficiency of both groups, enabling them to create fully automated tests, whether they are testing complex systems containing hundreds of devices or a single DUT.
iTest Team is the most commonly purchased iTest edition. Its breadth of functionality makes it an ideal-and safe-choice for organizations with diverse resources and skill sets. iTest Team provides all the functionality of iTest Personal, plus additional features to fully automate test cases. With iTest Team, engineers can:
- Configure and orchestrate system testing with numerous devices and traffic generators to create an automated system testing solution
- Create sophisticated test cases that include robust analysis and pass/fail criteria
- Utilize advanced analysis and conditional logic for complex branching and diagnostic test cases
- Create test cases for products or applications requiring CLI, SNMP, Web, Web Services, Java Swing, Flash (Flex), Serial Port, or Tcl
- Connect to devices; start setup, configuration, or tear down; or launch commonly used sets of actions with a single mouse click
- Automatically generate comprehensive documentation for every run, providing proof of testing and clear information for bug reports and issue resolution
- Create basic test cases from captured steps and/or use shared procedure libraries
- Annotate test cases with messages that will automatically be added to test reports
- Add looping constructs to help automate repetitive tasks
The Middle of the Automation Assembly Line
iTest Team supports the middle section of the automation assembly line, functioning as a standalone product or adding pass/fail criteria to tests created with iTest Personal. iTest Team passes these tests and test suites to an automation team at the end of the automation assembly line. Automation engineers then introduce abstraction techniques using iTest Enterprise.
