Seminar - Moving Towards Next Generation Networks: IPv6 and Implementations
We invite you to join us for the new IPv6 Technology and Implementation Seminar from Spirent, the leader in network testing technology.
For many years, the pundits have been preaching imminent disaster as we near the exhaustion of the IPv4 address pool, but somehow we keep dodging the bullet. This year, however, there is no doubt that the end is near.
On February 3rd, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) distributed the last of its remaining IPv4 addresses to the world's five Regional Internet Registries. These registries will then be responsible for assigning the final IPv4 addresses within their respective regions until they run out, which could be as early as 2012.
Adoption of IPv6, the new protocol, is crucial to the growth of the open internet. In this seminar, you'll learn about the current state of deployment around the world for IPv6 and how to prepare for the transition from IPv4 to IPv6.
Although the seminar will cover a lot of ground in just three hours, the attendee should leave with a good understanding of the IPv6 protocol and how to address techniques and important transition technologies such as tunneling and dual stack.
