Business Development Director
Summary of Role:
The successful candidate will act as the Capture Team Leader and will be responsible growing the Other Sensor Business for Spirent Federal Systems. This position will find customers and programs that are working with AltNav and other sensors by forging relationships of trust in our products. This position will work with potential customers, designing and managing requirements and, providing assistance to the team on complex technical data in support of new and existing programs. The Business Development Director will take ownership of, and be main point of contact for the customer requirements in the earliest phases. Demonstrating leadership, they will facilitate the delivery of a system that meets customer expectations to delivery of the final product.
Main Duties:
Working with the Sales team and Engineering, maintain ownership of the customer requirements throughout the development lifecycle on behalf of Spirent Federal Systems. Work with the engineering team to develop, trace, analyze and qualify system requirements. Liaise with the Configuration and Data Management (CMDM) Team.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Skilled in stakeholder identification and engagement in the Systems Engineering context.
Systems Engineering experience developing products and systems through all or some of the following: Requirements Capture; Analysis; Architecture; Modeling; Design & Development; Integration; Verification and Validation on complex military systems.
Understand the principles of architectural design and its role within the System lifecycle.
Experience in planning, estimating and defining engineering tasks and documenting them in a plan. Recognize the scope and limitations of models and simulations, including definition, implementation and analysis to show how a particular object or phenomenon will behave.
To become familiar with domains that may be unknown, you must have the ability to understand and analyze complicated problems and relationships. Experience in management of technical dependencies, assumptions, exclusions, risks and opportunities across the lifecycle.
Eligible for or holder of current DoD security clearance as a minimum (Spirent Federal will sponsor as required)
Desirable:
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science based subject. Graduate degree a plus.
Familiar with the DoD Requirements and Acquisition Framework. Experience with AltNav Programs and US Army desireable.
Annual Compensation $120,000-$200,000 range dependent on experience

CM/SQA Engineer
Systems and SW Engineer-Support complex software solutions for our Systems including CM and SQA functions
This role is being offered at multi-level grade based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and position requirements. The position is for the Pleasant Grove, Utah office.
Design, deliver, and support commercially available engineering software for Systems & Software Engineers to enable digital transformation and engineering efficiencies. Develop, automate, and package software solutions to enable our Engineers to begin utilizing capabilities faster and more reliably to better support our customer programs.
This role is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Solution Delivery organization. The primary responsibility for this position is design, deliver, and support complex software solutions for our Systems, Systems Test, and Software engineering functions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver, integrate and maintain software solutions in complex server environments
- Develop automation to streamline and simplify application deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and upgrade activities
- Investigate and provide answers to application related questions surrounding usage, best practices, and problems
- Author documentation capturing processes, procedures, work instructions, and design artifacts
- Administer and maintain solution security and compliance by leading hardening, patching, recovery, and upgrade efforts via partnerships with other IT functions
- Provide technical guidance to management to support solution infrastructure requirements, tool selection, license purchase decisions, and problem resolution
- Develop and execute on tool retirement/migration plans to enable program continuity during transitions to newer solutions and technologies
- Bachelor's degree in IT or STEM and minimum of 4 years of related experience, or a Master degree and 2 years of related experience, or 8 years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience deploying, testing, administrating, troubleshooting, and supporting integrated software applications in an enterprise business environment, including server based tools with database components
- Experience administrating both Linux and Microsoft operating systems
- Experience in a technical support role with a passion and the tenacity for solving challenging technical problems
- Experience deploying, integrating, supporting, and maintaining applications/microservices using container technology (Qemu, Docker, etc.)
- Experience with scripting languages commonly used for automation efforts (Bash, Ruby, Python, POSH, Java Script, etc.)
- Must be a US Citizen, US Citizen Status is required as this position will need a US Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
- Familiar with DevOps concepts, methodologies, and development frameworks
- Experience deploying and/or supporting modern software development toolchains/pipelines that include products such as Jira, Git, Confluence, Collaborator, Coverity, Azure Devops Server, and Jenkins
- Working knowledge of networking, security, storage, and operating system concepts in order to troubleshoot and resolve issues that impact application availability, security, and/or stability
- Experience working on and contributing to Agile development teams
- Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles
- Highly organized with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization as an individual and in a team setting, with a focus on attention to detail and time management
